DUNONG, the Dashboard for Understanding NASH Outcomes and Grade-Generation System, is an analytics platform developed in-house within the Department of Education to support the National Assessment for School Heads and generate leadership-pipeline insights. It scores examinee responses, categorizes results by competency level, and presents these findings through an interactive analytics dashboard. The platform helps DepEd interpret NASH outcomes, generate Individual Development Reports, and turn assessment evidence into leadership development decisions. Because school leadership quality shapes school performance, teacher support, and how well reforms reach the classroom, DUNONG plays an important part in strengthening the broader public education system.
DUNONG's design reflects national education priorities. It supports the school leadership, teacher quality, and system capacity reforms championed by EDCOM II. It also aligns with Q-BEDP's focus on professional development and school governance, as well as the Philippine Development Plan's goals for human capital and public sector capability. The platform's approach to artificial intelligence and data governance rests on responsible analytics, structured access control, and careful handling of sensitive assessment data.
ECAIR built and maintains this project in partnership with BHROD and NEAP, the offices responsible for school leadership assessment, professional development, and related policy work. ECAIR maintains the scoring and analytics infrastructure that turns raw assessment data into insights DepEd can act on.
To date, DUNONG has processed results from two NASH cycles under Fiscal Year 2025. The first, administered in September 2025, registered 11,308 examinees, of whom 4,410 qualified as prospective school principal candidates. The second, administered in May 2026, registered 23,848 examinees, with 8,771 qualifying as prospective candidates. As the platform scales to support future NASH administrations, DUNONG stands as a model for how in-house analytics can drive better-informed leadership decisions across the Philippine education system.
