SALIKSEEK, the Specialized AI for Live Inquiries and Knowledge Seeking, is a retrieval-augmented generative AI tool for answering priority policy and education-data inquiries from validated DepEd sources. It is designed to reduce long data-request cycles by helping authorized users retrieve grounded information quickly. Its public value is better access to reliable education evidence while maintaining source provenance, review rules, and responsible use of generative AI.
SALIKSEEK supports EDCOM II reform themes on evidence-informed policymaking, data use, and policy capacity. It aligns with Q-BEDP priorities on governance and planning, PREXC needs for policy and data-service support, and Philippine Development Plan goals on digital transformation of public services. Its AI governance alignment is central: generated answers must be grounded in approved sources, access must be controlled, and users must be able to trace where information comes from.
PPS under OUPPE is the primary process owner for policy inquiry and planning use cases, with EMISD and the Office of the Secretary as key partners. ECAIR's role is to develop and prepare the retrieval and answer-generation workflow for operational readiness.
SALIKSEEK completed proof-of-concept and structured testing stages and moved toward operational readiness with PPS and EMISD feedback cycles. ECAIR is now completing production readiness checks and defining the permanent owner for operation and content governance.
